Organizational chart
Governance may be defined as the exercise of authority, direction and control of an association to ensure that its purpose is achieved. Organizational structure determines the manner and extent to which roles, power, and responsibilities are delegated, controlled, and how information flows.
The Bylaws that guide our actions and decisions
The AWNA is an incorporated trade association, governed by bylaws which are necessary to begin and carry on its activities. The specifics of bylaws include things such as: the name of the organization, terms of membership, requirements for meetings, terms for board directors and committee members, what the fiscal year is, and the procedure for amendment.
Policy Manual that guides the Board
In addition to bylaws, the AWNA conducts business following a set of policies adopted by the Board of Directors. Policies are guidelines that establish the parameters within which the board itself, individual board members, board committees and the ED must operate and make day-to-day decisions in the ongoing operation of the association.
